Why Emphasize Corporate Worship?

There is nothing more important to the individual Christian and to the church as a whole than worship. Indeed, to a Christian all of life is worship, which includes an act of corporate worship (a gathering of God's people) on the Lord's Day.

Our corporate worship is designed to embody the language of the Psalmist who exclaims “Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name! For the LORD is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.” (Psalm 100:4-5 ESV).

All of what we do in worship is governed by God's Word; our practices are either clearly set forth by the Scriptures or can be inferred through the Word, the Spirit, and the Community of Saints.

Our church is committed to preaching and teaching the Word of God and to the regular observance of the Sacraments. What else do we do?

  • Through prayers and creeds we speak to God and each other in our common faith.
  • Through offerings of gifts and abilities, we present our lives and our means as living sacrifices to the Lord.
  • We sing, and our music seeks to be blended in style and distinct to our congregation; together we offer the praise of an intergeneration body of believers.
