NEW Adult Bible Classes for Summer 2014
At the close of 2013 we announced a new plan for our Sunday morning Adult Bible Classes.
Our theme for the 2nd Trimester (May through August) is "The Church and The World" . . . thinking biblically about how to share and show the good news of God's grace in Jesus to our neighbors, the nations, and the next generation.
Here are the courses we'll be offering this Summer, beginning May 4th at 9am . . .
TRACK ONE: Topical Study
Title: Becoming a Contagious Christian
Content Summary: Learn how to share and show the gospel to the people with whom you live, work, and play.
Teacher: Kevin Hekman
Format: Interactive teaching, some DVD segments, class discussion.
Study Guide: No study guide for this class, but the class is based on Becoming a Contagious Christian by Bill Hybels which is available in paperback and e-book formats.
TRACK TWO: Bible Book Study
Content Summary: The world needs to see what the grace of God looks like when it transforms people. James describes grace in action.
Teacher: Stephen Shipp
Format: A discussion-oriented, passage-by-passage study of the New Testament book, James.
Study Guide: We will have copies of James (A Knowing the Bible Study) available in the classroom for $8 each. This study guide is also available in various e-book formats online.
TRACK THREE: Foundation Study
Title: The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism
Content Summary: Answering the questions that skeptics and others ask about what Christians believe.
Teacher: Steve Williamson
Format: Teaching w/ PowerPoint, some DVD segments, class discussion.
Study Book: No study guide for this class, but the class is based on The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism by Tim Keller which is available in paperback and e-book formats.
